New Delhi: With the arrest of 02 notorious robbers namely, Rahish Ahmad @ Ganja S/o Wasir Ahmad R/o Karala, Shiv Vihar, Paschim Vihar, Delhi, Age- 38 yrs & Rakesh S/o Shri Ram R/o Gali no. 2 Kadi Vihar, Nathupura, Delhi, Age- 34 Years and 03 conspirators namely, Naresh Kumar S/o Late Shyam Singh R/o VPO Tajpur, Distt. Shamli, UP & Phase I, Budh Vihar, Rohini, Delhi, Age- 57 yrs, Hema @ Basanti W/o Shri Kaniyalal R/o Phase I, Budh Vihar, Delhi, Age- 34 yrs & ( Kamal S/o Lt. Karmchand R/o Mangolpuri, Delhi, Age- 44 yrs (BC of PS Mangolpuri), Joint teams of PS Maurya Enclave and Special Staff, North-West solved a sensational case of Rs 40 lakhs robbery in PS Maurya Enclave registered vide FIR No. 223/22 u/s 392/397/411/34 IPC and recovered robbed cash Rs. 14,57,000/- Lakhs & Jewellary Articles purchased out of robbed cash. Two Semi-Automatic Pistols alongwith 6 cartridges and two stolen motorcycles used in commission of crime also recovered. Accused Rahish found to a dreaded criminal & parole jumper in ‘Attempt to Murder’ case of PS Keshav Puram and Robbery case of PS Ashok Vihar, in which he was convicted for 7 years & 10 years respectively. He also found previously involved in many cases of dacoity, attempt to murder, robbery, snatching, theft & arms act.
On 28.01.22, an incident regarding robbery of Rs. 40 lakhs in Pitampura area was reported at PS Maurya Enclave, wherein the complainant Sooraj Kumar stated that he is working for his boss namely, Rajesh Bansal who is a businessman, from the last 6-7 years. On 24.01.22, his boss told him to collect the payment of Rs. 40 Lakhs from his business partner Sh. Sangeet Jain from his residence at Model Town. Upon this, the complainant along with driver namely, Rakesh went there and collected Rs. 40 Lakh from Sh. Sanjeet Jain. When they were returning in a car to residence of his boss at Pitampura, Delhi, they parked their car and were about to enter the house, suddenly two persons came on the bike from behind and one of them grabbed the driver Rakesh, while second person robbed the bag carrying Rs. 40 Lakhs from the complainant by showing him a pistol and fled away from the spot.
Accordingly, based on his statement, a case vide FIR No. 223/22 u/s 392/397/411/34 IPC was registered at PS Maurya Enclave and investigation was taken up.
As this case was blind and there was no clue about the accused persons. Considering the sensitivity of the matter & nature of incident, multiple teams of Special Staff/North-West comprising of SI Anand, SI Dinesh Beniwal, SI Vijender Nagar, ASI Naresh, HC Narsi, HC Devender, Ct. Ankush, Ct. Rohit, Ct. Pradeep, Ct. Manjit, Ct. Sunil, Ct. Uttam, Ct. IndraRaj & Ct. Sombir and of PS Maurya Enclave comprising of SI Jogender, SI Sunny, SI Vipin, HC Yogesh, Ct Amit & Ct Ravi Prakash, led by Insp. Amit Kumar, PS Subhash Place and Insp. Mukesh Kumar, SHO/ PS Maurya Enclave were immediately constituted under the close supervision of ACsP/Operations & Subhash Place and overall supervision of the undersigned. The teams were briefed properly and tasked to nab the culprits & solve the case at the earliest.
During the course of investigation, the police teams thoroughly examined the CCTV footages and analyzed all the exit routes of the culprits. After analyzing numerous CCTV footages, a route chart of the entry & exit of the accused persons was prepared. Further, technical surveillance was also mounted to get every possible clue about the culprits and the police team was able to detect the involvement of one Naresh kumar, driver of Businessman from Model Town.
On sustained interrogation of driver Naresh Kumar S/o Late Shyam Singh R/o VPO Tajpur, Distt. Shamli, UP & Phase I, BudhVihar, Rohini, Delhi, Age- 57 yrs, he confessed that he was involved in planning the conspiracy alongwith main mastermind/ conspirator namely, Hema @ Basanti as she knows many notorious criminals through her house owner namely, Kamal who is a BC of Mangolpuri. He further disclosed that said Hema became friendly with him & she set up a honeytrap to get information about cash of his boss.
Accordingly, Hema @ Basanti W/o Shri Kaniyalal R/o Phase I, Budh Vihar, Delhi, Age 34 yrs & Kamal S/o Lt. Karmchand R/o Mangolpuri, Delhi, Age- 44 yrs were apprehended and they confessed their involvement in this robbery case. The whole conspiracy was made under the guidance of said Hema who shared the information about the cash to be delivered with two notorious criminals namely, Rahish and Rakesh. They all decided to share the amount to be robbed, as per percentage share.
On further enquiry, it was found that said Rahish is a dreaded criminal who was wanted in another robbery case of PS Ashok Vihar vide FIR No. 75/21 u/s 392/397/34 IPC in which he alongwith his associate robbed Rs. 1.5 lakhs on point of pistol and he was also a parole jumper as he was released from jail last year in ‘Attempt to Murder’ case vide FIR No. 72/10 u/s 186/353/307/34 IPC & 27 Arms Act of PS Keshav Puram and Dacoity case of PS Ashok Vihar vide FIR no. 230/2010 U/s 392/397/34 IPC of PS Ashok Vihar, in which he was convicted for 7 years & 10 years respectively. In Dacoity case of PS Ashok Vihar, he alongwith his associates robbed cash Rs. 1.5 lakhs & jewellary articles from two factory owners, on point of pistol & knife.
It was difficult to trace such a dreaded criminal as he keeps on changing his locations and he has no phone as he always used phones of passerby or his associates for calling purpose, to evade his arrest by police. He also has no fixed address as he rarely visit his house in Shiv Vihar, Karala. Local sources were deployed to know any clue about his locations. The teams keep on working persistently and it came to notice that some persons are planning to commit another robbery in Paschim Vihar, for which they were doing recce & there is a possibility that Rahish may also be part of this conspiracy. Accordingly, two raiding teams were immediately constituted and stationed at two possible locations, as per the information about the robbers. The teams waited for hours and finally, informer saw one person and on pointing out by him, the team acted swiftly and was able to nab that person. He was identified as Rahish Ahmad @ Ganja S/o Wasir Ahmad R/o Karala, Shiv Vihar, Paschim Vihar, Delhi, Age- 38 yrs. During his search, a semi-automatic loaded pistol having 4 cartridges recovered from his possession.
On his sustained interrogation, he confessed his involvement in the instant robbery case of Rs. 40 lakhs. Further on his instance, his associate namely, Rakesh S/o Shri Ram R/o Gali no. 2 Kadi Vihar, Nathupura, Delhi, Age- 34 Years was also apprehended. During his search, a semi-automatic loaded pistol having 2 cartridges recovered from his possession.
During course of investigation, it was difficult to recover the robbed cash by the accused persons as they had distributed the cash among themselves as per their share. On instance of accused persons, Rs. 90,000/- recovered from accused Naresh, , Rs. 50,000/- from accused Kamal, and Rs. 5,00,000/- from accused Rakesh. As Rahish was a hard core criminal and he was constantly misleading police in recovery of his share. Continuous search was made at his various hideouts and finally, team was successful in recovery of Rs. 7,02,000/-, which Rahish had hidden in the rear compressor side of a washing machine. Further, Rs. 1,15,000/- recovered from accused Hema @ Basanti and as she was very much influenced by the lavish lifestyle of bollywood, she purchased gold jewellary including a chain pendant & a pair of earrings, out of her share of robbed cash, which were also recovered from her residence.
During further course of investigation, one splendor bike no. DL8S CT 6152 which was used in committing instant robbery, was recovered from a park in Mangolpuri, which was dumped there by accused Rahish after committing the Robbery. On verification, it was found stolen vide eFIR No. 027856/21 PS Subhash Place. Another splendor bike no. DL4S CR 3858 used by accused Rakesh after committing instant robbery, was also recovered, which was found stolen vide eFIR No. 020380/21 PS Raja Park.
Further efforts are being made to recover the remaining case property and to trace their possible involvements in other cases also.

- Cash Rs. 14,57,000/-
- Jewellery articles including a chain pendant & a pair of earrings purchased out of robbed cash.
- Two semi-automatic pistols alongwith 6 cartridges.
- Two stolen bikes used in commission of crime.
