Smt. Lekhi hoisted the National Flag under “Meri Maati, Mera Desh – Mitti ko Naman Veero ka Vandan” Programme at NDMC School, Mandir Marg.

New Delhi: NDMC organised a programme under “Meri Maati, Mera Desh – Mitti ko Naman Veero ka Vandan” at NDMC School, Mandir Marg in which Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi hoisted the National Flag on the occasion of 77th Independence Day of India today.

On the occasion Chairman, NDMC – Shri Amit Yadav, Vice-Chairman – Shri Satish Upadhyay, Council Members – Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal and Smt. Vishakha Sailani, Shri Girish Sachdeva, Secretary- NDMC, Dr. Ankita Chakravarty, Senior Officers and Officials, School students, teachers, representatives of Resident Welfare Association and Market Traders Association were present.

While remembering and paying tribute to the great freedom fighters who laid their lives for the Freedom of the Nation Smt. Lekhi said that it will be a great tribute when we follow the spirit of Freedom Fighters to fulfill their dreams to make India a developed Nation in the world. Smt. Lekhi urged the gathering to make India a self-reliant country by 2047 with our hard work and strength of unity in ongoing Amrit Kaal.

After hoisting the National Flag, Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi unveiled the Shilapalkham installed at Atal Adarsh Vidyalaya Mandir Marg in the memory of our Freedom Fighters. She also planted the sapling of trees along with the Chairman and Members of NDMC.

 On the occasion, Smt. Lekhi felicitated a widow of Delhi Police Personnel who laid his life on duty for the Nation. She also administered the Panch Pran Pledge to all the officials and school children along with the general public. She emphasized that the day when citizens apply the 5 prans and perform their duties honestly then our country will become a developed and self-reliant country.

A band troupe of combined Fire and Security Department played the patriotic tunes in the programme. NDMC School students also participated in the programme by holding the National Flags.
