Stone pelting at outpost in Saharanpur, policemen ran away to save their lives

Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh), October 6 . Tension is increasing over the controversial statement of Dasna temple’s Mahant Yeti Narsinghanand. People of Muslim community protested in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. During this, some unruly elements pelted stones at the police outpost.

The matter is of Sheikhpura police outpost of Sadar Bazar police station area. Thousands of people took out a procession today in protest against Yeti Narsinghanand’s statement on Prophet Mohammad. Some people also gave a memorandum to the police at Sheikhpura outpost. Then the unruly elements involved in the procession pelted stones at the police outpost.

Saharanpur SP City Abhimanyu Mangalik said that on Sunday some villagers gave a memorandum at Sheikhpura outpost. After this, some people involved in the protest started pelting stones while creating a ruckus. Seeing the situation deteriorating, the police took immediate action. At present, a case will be registered against the unruly elements regarding the stone pelting incident and further action will be taken.

SP City Mangalik said, “Mahant Yeti Narasimhanand had made a comment. A memorandum was submitted to the police today in protest against his statement. People were informed about the detention of Mahant Yeti Narasimhanand by the local police. The memorandum was submitted to the police peacefully, but some people tried to disturb the peace.”

He said that police teams have been formed to catch the miscreants who pelted stones and further action will be taken against them soon.

Let us tell you that there is resentment in the Muslim community over the comment of Mahant Yeti Narasimhanand. In view of this, protests are being seen in many states of the country. At present, Saharanpur Police and Administration have appealed to the people to maintain peace. Also, the police has increased security arrangements in Saharanpur after the stone pelting incident.
