Tornado confirmed storms in Ontario

Environment Canada says it has confirmed that a tornado touched down Tuesday in the Kawartha Lakes region of central Ontario. … He says the twister touched down in the community of Glenarm, about 70 kilometres north of Oshawa. It happened as a system of severe thunderstorm moved through southern Ontario.

Temperatures will begin to fall back to seasonal on Wednesday after several days of hot, muggy weather. The severe thunderstorms that brought a tornado to the Kawartha Lakes region on Tuesday have tapered off and relatively calm weather is expected for the next few days.
Tornado was captured on video around 3:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday afternoon in the Kawartha Lakes region while rain and thunderstorms tracked through.
Temperatures on Wednesday will return to more seasonal values, though accompanied by some lingering pop-up showers in parts of southern, eastern Ontario, as well as cottage country, thanks to an upper-level low in the north.
An extended stretch of mid-summer heat and humidity will return to Ontario and Quebec for next week, including Canada Day. At this point, it looks like Canada Day will feature temperatures in the lower 30s with a humidex near 40, possibly into the lower 40s.
