Lucknow| The red carpet has been rolled out for the Global Investors Summit-2023 (GIS-23) starting from Friday in Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the three-day event. More than 10,000 delegates are expected to participate in the event. It is expected to be attended by over 400 delegates from 41 countries, top industrialists, Union ministers, ministers/diplomats from 10 partner countries and CEOs of leading companies and banks.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said that UPGIS-2023 to be held from February 10 to 12 will be grand and historic.
Adityanath had sent eight teams abroad to organize international roadshows in December 2022, last month he himself led the roadshow in Mumbai.
On the eve of GIS-23, the Chief Minister said, from now onwards the world will see a new story of development of Uttar Pradesh.
He said that the State Government has received about 150 proposals (including MoUs) involving investment of Rs 7.12 lakh crore from abroad.
A state official said, 14 to 15 thousand investment proposals worth about Rs 15 lakh crore have been received in the state.
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the summit on Friday, while it will be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, among others.
President Draupadi Murmu will be the chief guest at the concluding session on Sunday.
Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran, Godrej Industries Chairman Nadir Godrej, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, Dixon Technologies Chairman Sunil Vachani and Zurich Airport Asia CEO Chief Executive Officer Daniel Bircher is expected to attend.
A global trade show will also be organized at the venue.
All the halls and tents at the venue have been named after saints and major rivers and the city has been decorated, a government spokesman said.
Three huge tent cities focusing on Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura have been set up for comfortable stay of the guests during the summit.
A special drone show, which is being called ‘New India’s Growth Engine’, will be organized to bring out the culture of the state and the modern face of Uttar Pradesh. Short films depicting the development of the state will also be screened.
The inaugural program will be telecast live and a special program is being made to watch it in all districts to ensure participation of entrepreneurs including local and small investors, the spokesman said.
Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP), Law and Order, Piyush Mordia informed that 500 specially trained police personnel have been tasked with internal security at the summit.
Around 100 young and smart policemen – from constable to inspector rank – from all the five (East, West, Central, North and South) zones of Lucknow Police Commissionerate have been selected for the purpose, Mordiya said.
