New Delhi | Heavy rains led to waterlogging in several areas of the national capital’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday morning. After which the arrival area of Terminal 3 was waterlogged for ‘half an hour before it was cleared.
The incident took place after incessant rains lashed the national capital late Friday night.
However, flight operations at the airport continued uninterrupted.
Delhi International Airport Limited said in a tweet: “Due to sudden heavy rains, for a brief period, the forecourt was waterlogged. Our team was immediately pressed into service and the issue has been resolved.”
In addition, several airlines said that some flights have been delayed due to bad weather.
IndiGo said in a tweet, “Departure and arrival of flights have been affected due to bad weather in Delhi.”
On its part, SpiceJet tweeted, “Due to inclement weather in Delhi, all departures or arrivals and their resultant flights may be affected.”
Further, Vistara said, “Traffic jam is expected due to waterlogging due to heavy rains in Delhi. Traveling customers are advised to give more time to travel to the airport. Thank you!”
