We humbly accept the mandate of Delhi: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, February 8  In the results of the Delhi Assembly elections that came out on Saturday, the Bharatiya Janata Party performed brilliantly and won 48 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party was reduced to just 22 seats. Once again, the Congress did not even open its account in this election, which is a big setback for the party.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi thanked the party workers and the people of Delhi after the election results. He wrote on Instagram, “We humbly accept the mandate of Delhi. Heartfelt thanks to all the Congress workers of the state for their dedication and all the voters for their support. This fight against pollution, inflation, and corruption and for the progress of Delhi and the rights of the people of Delhi will continue.”

Earlier, former Chief Minister of Delhi and National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal also accepted defeat while expressing gratitude to the people of Delhi. In a video message, he said, “Today the results of the Delhi elections have come. Whatever is the decision of the people, we accept it with all humility. The decision of the people is accepted with all humility. I bow to the people’s head. I congratulate the Bharatiya Janata Party for this victory and hope that they will live up to all the expectations and hopes with which the people have given them the majority.”

He said, “In the last 10 years, whatever opportunity we got from the people of Delhi, we did many important works in areas like education, health, water, electricity. Along with this, we also tried to improve the infrastructure of Delhi. Now, with the decision given by the people, we will not only play the role of a positive opposition, but we will also always work in the field of social service.”

It is worth mentioning that apart from Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia also had to face defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections. Arvind Kejriwal lost the election from New Delhi Assembly seat by more than four thousand votes. BJP candidate Pravesh Singh Verma won from here.
