Weekend curfew lifted from 13 districts in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu | The Jammu and Kashmir government on Sunday lifted the weekend curfew in 13 out of 20 districts of the Union Territory along with six more. Weekend curfew has already been lifted from seven districts and has now been lifted from Poonch, Rajouri, Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam and Pulwama.

While weekend curfew has been lifted in Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur, Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Pulwama and Shopian, night curfew has been lifted in the remaining seven districts from 8 pm to 7 am. Will continue till noon.

The government has allowed all outside shops to open from 7 am to 7 pm on all days.

Sunday’s order states that the market associations will have to extend full cooperation of the local administration in ensuring strict compliance with the appropriate behavior of Kovid.

All shops in indoor shopping complexes and malls can open only to those consumers who have been vaccinated or have to show a negative RT-PCR or RAT report 48 hours earlier.

Shop owners/managers/employees have to ensure compliance. District magistrates have been asked to strictly implement these measures.

Restaurants and bars can open for in-dining at 50 percent of their total capacity, only for customers who have been vaccinated or who have a negative RT-PCR or RAT report 48 hours earlier. The owners/employees/managers of the establishments have to ensure compliance.

Indoor sports complexes have also been allowed to open at 50 percent of their total capacity for vaccinated persons/ persons with valid negative reports for COVID.

“However, swimming pools will remain closed. Public parks are allowed to open only for vaccinated people,” the order said.

In respect of the other 7 districts, there will be a weekend curfew from 8 pm on Friday to 7 am on Monday and a night curfew from 8 pm to 7 am.

All outdoor shops and markets are allowed to open five days a week (except Saturday and Sunday).

It said that only 25 percent of shops in indoor shopping complexes and malls can open subject to the roster to be issued by the respective Deputy Commissioners.

The SEC further ordered that there shall be no restriction on the entry of passengers, returnees or passengers, whether by road, rail or air, into Jammu and Kashmir.

However, they will have to compulsorily undergo the Kovid-19 antigen test through any of the prescribed methods as per the protocol of the government.

The protocol for the management of COVID infected persons will be followed for all positive cases.

Direct entry will be given to passengers carrying a valid and negative RT-PCR report of 48 hours prior to a recognized test facility (a copy of which will be retained by the authorities). Any false certificate will make the person liable to action under the law.

This will also be applicable to the pilgrims coming to Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in Katra.
