Who is Atishi, who will become the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi

New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party has chosen Atishi as the new Chief Minister of Delhi. Atishi’s name was unanimously approved in the Legislature Party meeting. Atishi’s name was proposed by Arvind Kejriwal. Everyone agreed to it. Later Gopal Rai shared this information. He said, now Atishi will be the Chief Minister of Delhi till the next election. The entire Legislature Party has chosen her as their leader with two important responsibilities.

With Atishi’s name being finalized, she is going to become the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi. Earlier, Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dixit have also taken charge of Delhi. Atishi is an MLA from Kalkaji assembly seat. Currently, she has a total of 13 ministries. In political circles, Atishi is considered one of Kejriwal’s trusted companions.

Talking about Atishi’s political career, she first stepped into politics during the anti-corruption movement. She has worked as an advisor to Delhi Deputy CM and Education Minister Manish Sisodia from 2015 to 2018. This sharp ‘AAP’ leader has also been a member of the Political Affairs Committee i.e. PAC. Atishi also tried her luck in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but she had to face defeat at the hands of Gautam Gambhir.

Atishi was born on 8 June 1981. Her parents have also been professors at Delhi University. She studied at Springdale School in Delhi. She completed her master’s degree from St. Stephen’s College. After this, she took admission in Oxford University on Chevening Scholarship. There she obtained a second master’s degree. Atishi is one of the founding members of the Aam Aadmi Party. When the Aam Aadmi Party first released the manifesto draft in 2013, Atishi was also given a place in it.
