Washington, July 28 (IANS) Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has vowed to make the country the world’s crypto capital and a bitcoin superpower if elected. He also unveiled a plan to unlock the potential of the new industry.
The former president made several important promises on Saturday. He said that he would appoint an advisory council that would formulate his administration’s cryptocurrency policy. Apart from this, he talked about removing Gary Gensler, the current head of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He also promised to commute the life sentence of an American man imprisoned for running the Silk Route Market on the dark-net platform and release him.

He recently said in a speech at the industry’s annual conference in Nashville, Tennessee, that Bitcoin (cryptocurrency) is something that makes people independent, frees them from government pressure. Former President Donald Trump said, “I am presenting my plan, which will make America the biggest center of cryptocurrency and the biggest user country of Bitcoin. This plan will make America the world’s bitcoin superpower.”
He further said, “We will get it done. Cryptocurrency is going to shape the future. I want it to be built in America. We will make America the center of it. That is going to happen and you will be proud of me.”
