New Delhi, February 12. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday convicted former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case. As soon as this verdict came out, tears of joy welled up in the eyes of the 1984 riot victims.
Kuldeep Kaur, who lives in Nangloi, New Delhi, said in an emotional voice that the names of those who were criminals were written in history books, but our pain was never recorded. When PM Modi became the Prime Minister of the country, he ordered an inquiry into this matter. I think that PM Modi has worked to heal our wounds. I thank PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and demand the death penalty for Sajjan Kumar.
Kuldeep Kaur said that along with the accused, his children should also be hanged. My loved ones left this world, but such people lived a comfortable life with their families for 40 years after committing the crime. I believe that such people should be hanged publicly, so that the message goes out in society that the law definitely punishes those who do wrong.
Attar Kaur, a victim from Mata Gujri Colony, said that as long as the Congress government was in power, nothing happened. The country can never forget the massacre of Sikhs. I want to thank PM Modi that he formed SIT and now we have got justice. It took us 40 years to get justice, but we welcome the court’s decision. I demand death penalty for a man like Sajjan Kumar.
Another victim from Mata Gujri Colony, Bagi Kaur, while demanding death penalty for Sajjan Kumar, said that he should be hanged, we do not accept anything less than this. The previous Congress government worked to save him, but after a long wait of 40 years, we have got justice today. For this, I would like to thank the Modi government. They had taken a decision regarding this as soon as they came to power, the results of which are in front of us all. We are happy with the court’s decision and express our gratitude.
Ganga Kaur of Mata Gujri Colony said that our wounds have been deep for 40 years. I would like to thank PM Modi for healing our wounds. We will be happy when Sajjan Kumar is hanged. Congress party is responsible for the killings of Sikhs and they have tortured us a lot.
Nirmal Kaur, a victim of anti-Sikh riots, said that we have been going everywhere for 40 years and we have not got justice. I thank PM Modi. Today after the court’s decision, we have got some relief, some hope has been raised. We demand that Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar be hanged.
