Mumbai. The scaffolding of the 16th floor of an under-construction building suddenly collapsed on Tuesday in Borivali, Mumbai. BMC disaster control said three laborers died and another was seriously injured in the accident.
Laborers were working on the 16th floor of a 24-storey building being constructed in Soniwadi near Kalpana Chawla Chowk in Borivali suburb, when suddenly this incident happened at 1 pm.
BMC said, “All the laborers were immediately rushed to Shatabdi Hospital, Kandivali West, in critical condition, where doctors declared three dead.” While the condition of one laborer is said to be critical.
The deceased laborers have been identified as Manoranjan Samatdar (42), Shankar Baidya (26) and Piyush Haldhar (42). The name of the injured laborer is Sushil Gupta (36). Gupta’s condition remains critical. Many are admitted in ICU due to fractures and injuries.
On receiving the information, Mumbai Police and Fire Brigade teams reached the spot. The causes of the accident are being investigated.
