School van crashes on Delhi-Meerut Expressway; Driver, two children died, one is in critical condition

Ghaziabad, In an accident that took place on Saturday morning on the Meerut-Delhi Expressway, a school van collided with a dumper. A third vehicle coming from behind also collided with these two and overturned. The driver of the school van and two children died in this accident. Nine other children are injured. He has been admitted to four different hospitals. The condition of one child among them remains critical.

This accident happened on Delhi Meerut Expressway in Crossing Republic police station area of Ghaziabad. The garbage dumper was going from Lalkuan towards Delhi. A school van was coming behind him. Eleven schoolchildren traveling in the van were going from Amroha to Delhi’s Jamia to appear for the Class 6 entrance examination. Suddenly, this van collided with a dumper in the crossing Republic area. Driver Anas has died in the accident. After the accident, all the injured children were immediately admitted to different nearby hospitals. Two children have died during treatment here. According to information received from the police, the condition of another child is said to be critical.

A CCTV video of this accident has also surfaced. It is seen that the dumper was standing on the highway side for two-four seconds when this accident happened.

ACP Poonam Mishra said, “Today there was an entrance exam for class six in Jamia Delhi. For the same, 11 children from Amroha district were going to Delhi in an Ertiga car. The age of all the children is between 10 to 13 years. One died in the accident. The driver and two children have died. The remaining children are being treated in four hospitals.”
