Srinagar: Three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in an encounter in Drabgam area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The police gave this information on Sunday.
In a tweet quoting Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar, J&K Police said, “The three terrorists killed are locals, who are affiliated with the terror outfit Lashkar. One of them has been identified as Junaid Shirgojri, who Was involved in the murder of our colleague Shaheed Reyaz Ahmed.”
Anti-terror operations have been conducted in Kashmir in the last few months, in which many terrorists and their commanders have been eliminated.
Most of the operations have been carried out jointly by the police and the army on the basis of intelligence inputs.
Earlier on Saturday, a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist was killed in an encounter in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
There were two encounters in Kashmir on 7 June. The first took place in Shopian district, in which one terrorist was killed, while the second took place in the Chakras Kandi area of Kupwara. Two Lashkar terrorists were killed in this.
