New Delhi: A gang of burglars committed fabulous burglary by hiring labours/vehicles with drivers /godowns busted by the team of special staff, North District
Complainant Iktar Ahmad reported that he is running a godown of cosmetic items situated at Ram Bagh, Pratap Nagar, Delhi. On 14.08.2022 at about 06.00 PM, he closed the godown and left for his house. On 15.08.2022 at about 11.00 AM, he reached the godown and found that the lock of his godown was broken. On searching, 50-55 big cartons of branded cosmetic items were found stolen by someone in the intervening night of 14-15.08.2022. Hence a case vide FIR No. 251/22 dated 15.08.2022 u/s 457/380 IPC was registered at PS. Gulabi Bagh, Delhi and investigation taken up by local police.
Senior officers tasked to Special Staff, North District for solving this case. Hence a dedicated team of Spl. Staff/North comprising of SI Hari Om, SI Surender, ASI Vinod, ASI Har Sikander, ASI Ansar Khan, ASI Jag Om, HC Devender, HC Sanjeet and HC Aas Mohamed was constituted under the supervision of Inspr. Jeet Singh (I/C Spl. Staff/North District) and overall supervision of Shri Dharmender Kumar, ACP-Operation Cell/North District. The dedicated team collected CCTV footages of the area. On analysis of CCTV footages, one TATA Ace was spotted in which the burglars were loading stolen articles. The number of TATA Ace in the CCTV footage was not clear and after various permutation and combination, the team came on to conclusion that the number is DL-1LAH-XXXX. It was also noticed that the burglars came in one Ertiga car and subsequently went away in the same car after committing burglary.
Details of TATA Ace vehicle obtained and driver of the vehicle was identified as Aman r/o Burari. Aman was interrogated and he disclosed that 05 persons had hired his vehicle and loaded cartons from one godown and unloaded these cartons at Gali No. 37, Molad Band Extn., Badar Pur, Delhi.
The team took Aman along with them and reached at the given address but no article was found at that place. From local enquiry it was revealed by the owner of the property Sh. Jawahar Singh that the room was taken on rent by one Pushpender @ Lala and Varun Kumar for business purpose. The owner was only having mobile number of Pushpender @ Lala. Owner Sh. Jawahar Singh also revealed that Pushpender @ Lala and Varun Kumar had taken all the articles. The mobile phone of Pushpender @ Lala was found swithed off. The team was again head to a dead end.
The team again started looking into CCTV footage of the area nearby and found that Pushpender @ Lala and Varun Kumar have loaded articles in another tempo. However the number of tempo couldn’t be traced. Local intelligence/ sources were deployed.
On 18.08.2022, secret information was received to SI Hari Om at Operation Cell, North that one of the burglar namely Varun Kumar hired one Ertiga vehicle and will come near Malka Ganj to dispose of the cosmetic items
Acting upon the information, the dedicated team laid a trap near Hans Raj College where Ertiga No. HR-38Y-XXXX intercepted and both driver and co-occupant were apprehended. On checking of the vehicle, 04 cartons of cosmetics recovered. The suspect was identified as Varun Kumar r/o Near Sec-37, Faridabad, Haryana age-23 years and driver identified as Deepak Sharma.
