In recent years, many Indian films based on sports have achieved significant success.  Films like Chak De! India, Dangal, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, 83, and others have won the hearts of audiences. Now, actor Kay Kay Menon’s upcoming film Love-All aims to continue this trend.  Kay Kay Menon and director Sudhanshu Sharma addressed the media in Delhi while promoting the film. Love-All is ready to release in theaters on September 1, 2023.

Based against the backdrop of badminton, Love-All features versatile actor Kay Kay Menon in the lead role, portraying a father whose psyche suffers a conflict between his own failure and his son’s dreams.  Written and directed by Sudhanshu Sharma, the film showcases a heartwarming father-son relationship and brings forth the excitement inherent to Badminton. Presented by P. Gopichand, Mahesh Bhatt, and Anand Pandit, distributed by Dilipsoni Jaiswal, Rahul V. Dubey, and Sanjay Singh, and released by M. Ramesh’s Lakshmi Ganapathy Films.  Love-All is set to release in 8 Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, and Odia, along with subtitles in seven foreign languages including Malay, Thai, Korean, Spanish, Japanese, Indonesian, and French.

Kay Kay Menon will be seen in the film as a character from a small town. Love-All also features performances by Swastika Mukherjee, Sriswara, Sumit Arora, Ark Jain, Deep Rambhiya, Atul Srivastava, Robin Das, Alam, and Majel Vyas, who have brought the game of badminton to life on screen. The casting team of Love-All scouted for the best badminton players across the country and auditioned around 300 players during various All-India Junior and Sub-Junior tournaments. The shortlisted players underwent months of rigorous coaching and training to ensure that the on-court action is as authentic as the real game.

Kay Kay Menon stated that a sports film should primarily be about the sport. The story of Love-All is a tribute to both the sport and the players, showcasing their passion and dedication. Director Sudhanshu Sharma and DOP Jaywant Raut Murlidhar have captured the essence of the sport beautifully on camera, utilizing various camera angles, slow-motion shots, and professional sports camera operators to give the film a realistic touch. Their dedication to accurately portraying the game’s essence not only won the heart of the legendary badminton player P. Gopichand but also gained support from brands like Yonex, Badminton Association of India, and Badminton Gurukul.

The heart-touching story of Love-All is set in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The film’s emotional storyline and relevant subject were highly praised by director Mahesh Bhatt, who is also the presenter of the film. In Mahesh Bhatt’s words, “When a story emerges from the soil, it connects with common people, discussing their dreams and struggles, whether they are from any city or country.”

In its narrative, Love-All weaves universal themes of love and family. This film beautifully captures every step taken in the making of a legend, depicting dreams, unspoken emotions, and the determination that supports every stride towards achieving the goal. The journey to achieving one’s goals is often laden with challenges, and passion and dedication turn those dreams into reality.
