New Delhi: In a press conference organized by the renowned Luv Kush Ramlila Committee at the Red Fort Ground, the President of the Luv Kush Ramlila Committee, Shri Arjun Kumar, said that Ramlila will be staged from 3 to 13 October 2024 this year and Dussehra festival will be celebrated with great pomp and show across the country on 12 October 2024. Giving further information, Shri Arjun Kumar said that well-known film star, comedian, British era jailer Asrani will be seen inviting all the kings to break the bow with his unique comedy style on the occasion of Sita Swayamvar in the court of King Janak.
Famous singer Shankar Sahni will also sing the praises of Lord Shri Ram in the Ramlila as Kewat while ferrying Lord Shri Ram across the boat. Aam Aadmi Party leader and CTI Chairman Shri Brijesh Goyal will play the role of Meghnad, the victorious son of Ravana, Indra. Army Major Shalu Verma will play the role of Maharaj Dashrath’s beloved wife Kaikeyi.
While answering the questions of the media, Asrani said that it is a matter of pride for me to play any role in Ramlila. Whenever I went abroad, my admirers called me Narad ji because I played the role of Narad Muni on the stage of Luv Kush. I am happy that even abroad, Luv Kush Ramlila is so popular that the young generation there is getting Indian culture and values through Ramlila.
This year I am playing the role of the chief minister in the court of King Janak who will invite all the kings who came to Sitaji’s swayamvar to break the bow of Baba Bhole. Shankar Sahni said that I am a singer and I am happy that I am playing the role of Kewat who will help Lord Shri Ram cross the Ganga while singing. While addressing the press conference, Luv Kush Ramlila Committee General Secretary Mr. Subhash Goyal said that before the Leela, there will be a discourse program by Saint Trilochan Das Ji Maharaj, Khatu Shyam Bhajan Sandhya by famous Bhajan singer Mr. Kanhaiya Mittal, along with this, there will also be a discourse and Bhajan program by Maharaj Mr. Aniruddhcharya Ji.
In the press conference, AAP party leader Mr. Brijesh Goyal said that I will play the role of the mighty Meghnad, son of Dashanan Ravan, on the stage of Luv Kush, this role is challenging, for which I am preparing right now. I thank everyone who selected me for this role. Major Shalu Verma, who came from the Army back ground, told the journalists that playing the important role of Maharani Kekai of Maharaj Dashrath in the Leela is definitely very important for me.
