New Delhi| The meeting of the Central Election Committee started at 7 pm on Saturday at the BJP headquarters in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The names of the candidates of the upcoming phases of Assam and Bengal are to be decided in this meeting to be held in two phases. Apart from PM Modi, the national president JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah and the state president and in-charge of the states are taking part in this meeting. Earlier, Assam and West Bengal Core Committee meetings were held from 11 to 5 in the day at the house of Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda.
Home Minister Amit Shah was also present at the meeting of the Home Committee of National President Nadda. The first meeting was held by the Assam Core Committee. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonwal, Minister Hemant Biswa Sharma, Assam Election Incharge Narendra Singh Tomar, etc. were present. This meeting churned on winning over a hundred seats in Assam.
The Assam meeting was followed by the meeting of the West Bengal Core Committee, in which National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, State President Dilip Ghosh, Suvendu Adhikari, Mukul Roy, Rahul Sinha were present. The names of the candidates of the third and fourth phase seats were considered in this meeting. After the meeting of the core committee, the candidates’ names will be stamped in the party’s election committee meeting, which started at BJP headquarters at 7 pm today.
