AIMF threatens to protest over not waiving off electricity bills

The All India Minority Front (AIMF) has demanded that the Delhi govt waive off full electricity bills for people who have suffered economically due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

Party president Mr SM Asif in a statement said, “If the Aam Aadmi Party led Delhi govt  will not waive off full electricity bills for the last four months during covid-19, AIMF workers will come out on the streets and launch a series of protests against the AAP government.”

“The party cannot bear this,” Mr Asif said.

The AIMF chief pointed out that the pandemic and the subsequent lockdown have hit people financially and it was imperative that they receive adequate support at all levels from the Delhi government.

The party has noted that the Centre’s Rs 20 lakh crore special economic package was not going to help the common man directly during covid-19.
