An 8-year-old girl recovered and handed over to her parents

New Delhi: The staff of Police Station Mandir Marg has solved a case of missing of minor girl (aged about eight years), who went missing from her residence in Sadar Bazar, Delhi. The police contacted the family of the missing girl and handed her over to her family.

On 02.04.2022, an information was received at Police Station Mandir Marg regarding a minor girl found roaming near Gole Market, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Road, Mandir Marg. The team tried to extract information about family members of the girl, but she could not give any satisfactory reply. Owing to the sensitive nature of the case, a team comprising of ASI Abhay Singh and Ct. Makhan was constituted under close supervision of Inspr. Satvinder Singh, SHO/Mandir Marg and overall supervision of Sh. Vinay Mathur, ACP/Connaught Place.

Footages of numerous CCTVs were obtained and analysed for clues. The footages revealed that the child came to Gole Market from Paharganj side. Accordingly, information about the child was shared with adjoining Police Stations. Information about the girl was also uploaded on internal police WhatsApp groups.

During the course of enquiry, it was found that a case vide FIR No. 257/22, u/s 363 IPC has been registered at PS Sadar Bazar regarding kidnapping of the girl child. Thereafter, the team contacted the parents and informed them that their daughter has been traced. ASI Abhay Singh along with the girl reached Police Station Sadar Bazaar, where the girl was handed over to her parents. The sincere and prompt action of Police Station Mandir Marg resulted into reunion of the girl with her family.
