New Delhi: Chairman of National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK), Shri M. Venkatesan visited the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Safai Karamchari Residential Complexes and interacted with Chairperson, NDMC Shri Dharmendra & other Senior Officers along with Safai Karamcharis & Safai Karamchari Unions at NDMC Convention Centre, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi today.
The Chairman, NCSK visited the Safai Karamcharis residential colonies at Valmiki Sadan-Mandir Marg, Palika Dham-Gole Market and Bapu Dham- Chankyapuri, New Delhi. During the visit Secretary, NDMC Dr. B.M Mishra, MOH Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Chief Engineer(Civil-II) Shri Rajiv Jain and Director (Welfare) Shri Prag K. Singh NDMC also accompanied the Chairman, NCSK.
The Chairman, NCSK interacted with the safai karamcharis of residential colonies heard their problems & issues. Most of their problems were related to the maintenance of the residential complex and basic amenities. Chairman, NCSK directed the Senior Officers of NDMC to readdress the problems in these Safai Karamcharis’ colonies immediately.
In the meeting, the Chairman, NCSK discussed various problems of the Safai Karamcharis & their unions and instructed the senior officers of the NDMC to solve the problems at the earliest. The main issues raised by the Safai Karamcharis Unions were related to regularization of RMR, DTL Pay Scales, 7 th CPC implementation and compassionate appointments. The Chairperson NDMC told the Chairman, NCSK that sincere and sustained efforts are being made to resolve their long-pending issues.
The Chairman, NCSK desires that NDMC should make efforts to make SKs aware about the welfare / beneficial schemes for the Safai Karamcharis. He also asked the Safai Karamcharis unions also to do the same.
