As an excellent example of technological integration in election monitoring, the Election Commission of India (ECI) made effective use of the CVigil App during the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, ensuring prompt and efficient redressal of grievances.

A total of 5,920 complaints were received from 11 districts of Delhi through the CVigil App, out of which 5,216 complaints were found to be genuine and resolved by the FST teams as per ECI guidelines, while 696 complaints were found to be untrue. These complaints were resolved in just 36.16 minutes, which is far better than the target of 100 minutes.

With an exceptional accuracy rate of 98%, the quick response of the CVigil App has proven its effectiveness in ensuring a fair and transparent election process. Dedicated teams deployed across the capital worked tirelessly to ensure smooth elections, thereby demonstrating ECI’s commitment to maintaining electoral integrity.

A total of 691 teams and 1,338 personnel were deployed across 70 Assembly constituencies of Delhi. All the teams, led by Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi, ensured satisfactory redressal of grievances. Coordination with DEOs and their FST (Flying Squad Team) & SST (Static Surveillance Team) played a vital role in transparent and efficient election process.

Among the districts, North District topped with 1,243 complaints, while New Delhi District stood second with 971 complaints. This reflects the active participation of citizens who reported the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations on time using the cVIGIL App, thereby further strengthening public confidence in the electoral process.

The successful deployment of the cVigil App reflects ECI’s vision of incorporating technology to safeguard the democratic process. By empowering citizens to directly report electoral violations, the app has become a key tool to enhance accountability, encourage transparency and engage all stakeholders in upholding the rule of law.

The voting under Delhi Assembly Election 2025 is scheduled on 5th February 2025. The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Delhi has directed all deployed FST and SST teams to keep a close watch on MCC violations for the next four days, especially during the silence period.
