Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden claimed victory as the US presidential election began. He declared that “we are on the way to win this election”. At the same time, Republican nominee President Donald Trump has accused the Democrats of ‘trying to steal the election result’.
After Biden claimed victory at a rally of his supporters in his home state of Delaware just before 1 pm, Trump insisted that his (Trump) win would be ‘big.’
He tweeted another accusation, “We are ahead, but they are trying to steal the election result. We will never let them do it. Votes cannot be cast after the election is over.”
At the same time, Biden addressed the supporters, saying, “I am telling you tonight that we are confident that we are on the way to win this election. I am optimistic about this result.”
But he said that “this vote does not end until every ballot is counted.”
Twitter has labeled Trump’s statement a controversial tweet. Which states, “All or some of the content shared in this tweet is disputed and may contain misleading information about participation in elections or any other civil process.”
Trump has won an important state like Florida, but appears to be losing in Arizona.
Shortly before 1.30pm, the NBC News Network showed Trump ahead with 213 electoral votes against Biden’s 210 electoral vote. A magical figure of 270 electoral votes is needed to win.
Results are yet to be announced in many important states such as Pennsylvania, as it is difficult to say at the moment who will win.
