DU Exams 2020 Postponed News: Postponed by High Court, What is open book examination?

DU Exams Postponed News: Delhi University DU has once again postponed the 2020 exams for the students of the final year/semester starting from July 10 till August. High Court has postponed the DU 2020 exams. Lets us know what is an open book examination?

The education sector is being severely affected due to Corona and it has become a major challenge to conduct examinations for Delhi University amidst the deteriorating conditions. Meanwhile, Delhi University has again postponed the examinations for the students of the final year/semester starting from July 10 till August.

Explain that the first DU Open Book Exam was scheduled to be held from July 1, but the university had decided to postpone the exam for 10 days. The university had decided to re-conduct the examinations from July 10 and released a schedule for the same. But now once again, taking a big decision, Delhi University has announced to postpone the final year examinations till August.

High Court: Exams have been postponed till August

DU Exams Postponed News: The university told the Delhi High Court that it has decided to postpone the final year exams, which were to begin from 10 July. The university’s lawyer told the High Court that the final year examinations have been postponed till August.

Open-book exam (OBE) was strongly opposed by the students and teachers

Explain that the online open-book exam (OBE) was strongly opposed by the students and teachers, but amidst all the opposition, the University of Delhi decided to organize an open book examination for final year students. But now the examinations have been postponed till August.

What is an open book examination?

In the Open Book Examination, students will be given online question paper, which they will have to download and solve. Students will be given 2 hours to do the paper and 1 hour will be given to download question papers and upload answer books. While the disabled students will be given 5 hours’ time.

For open book examination, students can take the help of books, notes, and other study material. Apart from the exam, an additional time of 1 hour will be given for downloading the question paper and uploading the scanned sheets. Students will have to upload the answer sheets on the portal within 3 hours after the commencement of the exam.
