San Francisco | The Google Weather app on Android, which has received a redesign, is now starting to roll out to people with the latest search beta.
According to 9 to 5 Google, prior to this, Google had not touched Vader’s experience on Android for many years.
The report states that this improvement thrives for many ‘Material Themes’ for today, tomorrow and 10 days, and as a search bar with updated tab indicators.
Meanwhile, the navigation drawer has been replaced with a profile in the upper-right corner. Tapping reveals an account dropdown with settings for changing temperature units and the ‘Add to Home Screen’ shortcut.
The report states that a strange aesthetic style that Google has chosen in this weather redesign is a white status bar that was previously themed for current weather conditions.
The new color matches the navigation and search bar, but is very bright – especially when the system dark theme is activated, added.
There are no other changes to the core forecasting experience with the company that exploits Weather.com for data.
Reportedly, there are currently some bugs when tapping on the search bar to switch cities.
Google App 12.20 is currently in the beta channel. It should be available in the stable channel soon.
