Maharashtra Acid victim, tortured for 12 hours on the roadside, died

Maharashtra Acid victim: A heartbreaking incident came to light in Maharashtra on Diwali. A 22-year-old woman was thrown to the roadside after her boyfriend burned her with acid and petrol, where she had been lying for more than 12 hours. The girl died on Sunday morning after battling for 16 hours from death. An officer informed about the incident.

Lakshman Kendre, the investigating officer of Neknoor police station, said that the incident occurred late Friday. Avinash R. Rajure (25) and Savitra D. Ankulkar (22) set out on a motorcycle from Pune to their home in Shelgaon in Nanded district for Diwali.

“The accused Rajure, who set out on a journey of about 450 km, stopped the vehicle and attacked the woman at a desolate place in Yelamb Ghat area around 2 am on Saturday,”
The police officer said that at first, the accused attempted to strangle her, but the victim resisted her, then the accused took out a bottle of acid and threw it at her.

The accused did not stop here, he took out petrol from his vehicle and put fire on the Maharashtra Acid victim and pushed it into a roadside pit.

The police continued, “A shepherd heard the victim’s voice around 2 pm on Saturday and immediately informed us. We reached the spot and found her suffering from severe burns from acid and petrol and found her at Beed Civil Hospital. took away.”

Kendre continued, “The victim was burned 50 percent due to acid and petrol fires and breathed her last today (Sunday) in the hospital after a 16-hour battle between life and death.”

He further stated that as per preliminary investigation, the accused and the victim stayed together as a live-in partner for a few weeks in Pune, although the motive behind the murderous attack is unclear.

A case of murder has been registered at Neknur Police Station, while Beed Police has issued a high alert for all the District Border Police Outpost from Pune to Nanded in an attempt to nab the accused Rajure.
