Mayawati on Bihar Election Announcement: Elections should be free, fair, and free from money power

Lucknow, October 6  Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) National President Mayawati reacted to the announcement of the Bihar Assembly election dates. Mayawati expressed hope that the Election Commission would ensure a fair and transparent voting process. She said that the Commission should ensure that these elections are completely free from money power, muscle power, and the misuse of government machinery.

In a post on the social media platform, Mayawati wrote, “We welcome the Election Commission of India’s announcement today to hold the much-awaited Bihar State Assembly General Elections in two phases on November 6 and 11. We hope that the Election Commission will take strict and effective steps to ensure that the voting system is truly free, fair, and free from the scourge of money and muscle power, as per the wishes of the people, and clean from the misuse of police and government machinery, in the larger public and national interest, and for the strengthening of democracy in the country.”

She further said that the BSP also has a special appeal to the people of Bihar to participate in this celebration of democracy in a peaceful manner, exercising the very important constitutional right to vote given to every citizen by the revered Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.

Mayawati further wrote, “The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will contest this Bihar Assembly election on its own in almost all seats. People at all levels of the party have been actively preparing for this election, and under the leadership of the party’s national convener, Akash Anand, the “Sarvajan Hitaya Jagran Yatra” and other such events have been successfully organized. The party hopes that the people of Bihar will ensure the success of the BSP candidates by voting on the “elephant” symbol in favor of “Sarvajan Hitaya and Sarvajan Sukhaya” for the ideal system of “rule of law by law” in their state. Thank you.”
