NDMC launches an intensive drive to remove posters, banners and illegal hoardings or advertisement in public places

New Delhi: In view of the forthcoming Swachhta Sarvekshan 2021, New Delhi Municipal Council ( NDMC ) Enforcement Department has initiated an intensive drive to remove the posters, banners and illegal hoardings or advertisements installed at public places and busy market areas of New Delhi today.

Under the drive, Director (Enforcement – North) Shri RN Singh along with a team of Enforcement Department have conducted an intensive inspection of the area around of Gole Market, Connaught Place, Janpath, Shivaji Stadium, Regal, Revoli, Shankar Market, KG Marg , Barakhmbha Road and Bengali Market and removed all type of defacement of property items.

The civic agency officials are also creat an awareness by meetings amongst the several Market Associations asking them to immediately remove unauthorised advertisements, self-signages, flexes and hoardings that have been erected in violation of Delhi Outdoor Advertising Policy 2017 and Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act – 2007.

As per the Outdoor Advertisement Policy prior permission to the Chairman, NDMC is required to display any advertisement to public view in any manner. Self signages will not be allowed beyond the length of the shop or exceeding 2.5 square meters as per the policy. In case of self-signage’s is having beyond the total area of 2.5 square meter the same is required the prior permission from Chairman, NDMC.

In the South Zone of NDMC area, a joint inspection of Sarojini Nagar Market was carried out by a team of Director(Enforcement-South) Shri VK Gautam and MOH-Dr. Ramesh along with office bearers of Sarojini Nagar Market Association.

During inspection thabazari holders were directed to remain in their allowed space and should not go beyond the specific area. Enforcement Inspectors have also been directed to keep a close vigil on such cases.

In view of keeping sanitation and hygiene situation, all thabazari holders were directed to keep dustbin with them otherwise civic agency will take necessary action against them.

In another drive against illegal hawkers and encroachment, NDMC’s Enforcement Department was removed illegal hawkers and encroachments from Janpath Market, Connaught Place Corridors and Shankar Market in New Delhi area.

During the drive, some unauthorized hawkers were created nuisance situation in parking at Connaught Place and in other area, the situation was sorted out by the help of local police and drive was successfully completed.
