New Delhi: New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) in association with Mohan Foundation organised an interactive session about organ donation awareness at Convention Centre, NDMC, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi today morning. The session was inaugurated by the Vice Chairman, NDMC Shri Satish Upadhyay.
In his opening address, Shri Upadhyay stressed that due to a lack of awareness, there are myths and fears in people’s minds about organ donation. The aim of the session was to motivate normal human beings to pledge to donate organs after death and to spread awareness about the importance of organ donation. Organ Donation is donating a donor’s organs like heart, liver, kidneys, intestines, lungs, and pancreas, after the deceased donor, for the purpose of transplanting them into another person who is in need of such an organ.
Employees and HoDs disused the facts and clarified their confusion about Organ Donation with the specialized persons in this field. On the occasion, a presentation and videos of the donors have also been shown to motivate the employees.
