Forthcoming G20 Summit make a great responsibility on NDMC to Clean and Green National Capital City :Chairman NDMC

New Delhi:To encourage the citizens of New Delhi area in achieving the goals of Swachh Bharat Mission, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Chairman, Shri Amit Yadav along with paralympian and NDMC Brand Ambassador Dr. Deepa Malik felicitated the winners of various competitions in a function held at NDMC Convention Center New Delhi today.

In his keynote address, Shri Amit Yadav after congratulating all stakeholders and citizens of NDMC for the First rank in Swachh Survekshan 2022 in the category of upto 3 lakh population and exhorted for the sets the target of 7 star rating in the forthcoming Swachh Survekshan 2023 by NDMC because NDMC area is a National Capital and our responsibilities are greater than other cities. He urged all the citizens of NDMC area to come together for achieving the target by united active participation in every effort taken by the Civic Body.

Chairman- NDMC said that Swachhta is not only essential for the ranking or rating of any survekshan but it should be made a daily activity and it needs to be continued as a habit in daily routine. He also emphasised on the primary function of municipality i.e to help clean the whole area.


He also mentioned that the forthcoming year’s G20 summit will be held at the New Delhi area and will place a big responsibility on NDMC as many foreign delegations, Head of States and other contingents will be visiting New Delhi area. Thus NDMC has a big role in showcasing Clean and Green National Capital City.

On the occasion, the Chairman appealed to the citizens that full cooperation of citizens and institutions of the NDMC area is required to achieve the target which has been set. In the felicitation Ceremony, Chairman NDMC administered the Pledge of “Say No to single use Plastic” to all participants.

Dr. Deepa Malik, the brand ambassador of NDMC also addressed the audience and sought all to contribute in achieving the goal in forthcoming Swachh Survekshan 2023 and asked everyone to work with the government in order to maintain the cleanliness and to make sure that we achieve the target of Clean Delhi, Green Delhi. She appreciated the work of Swachhta champions and asked everyone to stay fit and stay healthy by following a healthy routine and to avoid the usage of Single Use Plastic to as much extent as possible in routine life.

In his welcome address, Medical Officer of Health – Dr. Ramesh informed that the competition was conducted for ranking of Hotels, RWAs, MTAs, Hospitals, Educational Institutions and Offices on the basis of cleanliness and sanitation. They were appraised by a three-layer quality check and the awardees were given a prize money of Rs. 8000 for the first position, Rs. 4000 for the second position and  Rs. 3000 for the third position in above mentioned categories. A total of 74 awards were distributed during the ceremony.

The spirit of the celebration was further enhanced through recognition given to Entrepreneurs, Startups, institutions and Voluntary organizations in NDMC to boost their morale and appreciate their work done by them for Swachh Bharat Mission. Awardees were also given for various competitions categories such as painting, jingle making, movie making with the objective to engage large number of citizens, students etc. and the awardees were presented with appreciation certificates.
