New Delhi, In his address before the budget, President Ram Nath Kovind mentioned and praised the work done by the government during Corona. He said that no one slept hungry in India in the disaster caused by the Corona epidemic. The Corona government made arrangements for free food grains for crores of countrymen. The President also underlined the importance of India’s ancient culture along with new education policy, infrastructure, agricultural development, start-ups and new technology. The President said that in the great crisis of Corona, we have seen the problem of hunger in many big countries, but our sensitive government made every effort that no poor should go hungry in this big crisis. The government is giving free ration to all the poor under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. 2, A program to provide free food grains to crores of beneficiaries is being run with an expenditure of Rs.60000 crores. Our government has now extended this scheme till March 2022.
The President has given a detailed mention of the new education policy. He said that the government is implementing a new National Education Policy to give shape to the resolve of self-reliant India. Local languages are also being encouraged through the National Policy on Education. The emphasis is on conducting important entrance examinations for undergraduate courses in Indian languages as well. Teaching in 6 Indian languages has started in engineering colleges.
Skill development of more than 2.25 crore youth is being done through ITI and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra. Many changes have been made to the UGC rules. To fight against Corona, six special education programs related to the health sector have been started. This is helping the health care center. Tribal-dominated Eklavya Residential Model School is being promoted for the education of tribal youth. These schools will empower about 3.30 lakh tribal youths educationally.
The President said that the spirit of the Government of India is reflected in the selection of Padma awards in recent years.
So far, 28 lakh street vendors have been given assistance under one scheme. To protect the interests of the workers, the government has also started a new portal, to which more than 23 crore workers have joined so far. The President said that we are constantly seeing that due to the connectivity of more than 44 crore countrymen with the banking system, cash could also be delivered to crores of beneficiaries during the epidemic. The President said that I would also praise the government for the growing spread of Digital Economy and Digital India and the increasing trend of UPI.
The President said in his address that the government considers it important to enhance the dignity of the poor. So far, more than 2 crore houses have been provided to the poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, 17,000,000 houses have been approved in the last 3 years at a cost of about 1.5 lakh crores. Jal Jeevan Mission, which was started with the objective of providing water to every household, has started making a big difference in the lives of the people.
Nearly 6 crore villagers have been connected with drinking water connections despite pandemic constraints.
This has greatly benefited the women, daughters and sisters of our village.
Swamitva Scheme is also an extraordinary effort. Under this scheme, more than 40 lakh property cards have been given in 28000 villages. These property cards are not only helpful in preventing disputes but are also making it easier for the people of the village to get loans from banks.
