Ruckus on Shivaji Jayanti in JNU Left and ABVP accuse each other

New Delhi: There was a clash between Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and the Left student organizations at Jawaharlal Nehru University on Sunday evening. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad says that they had organized a wreath-laying program at the JNU Students’ Union office on the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, after which the picture was put up along with other pictures in the office itself. After some time, the people of leftist student organizations reached there and picked up Shivaji’s photo and flower garland and threw it in the garbage. When the activists of the Vidyarthi Parishad tried to put photos on the wall again, they were beaten up by the people associated with the Left student organizations. On the other hand, the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union says that ABVP has once again attacked the students. According to Aishe Ghosh, ABVP has once again attacked the students, A candlelight march was held here in the university campus in memory of IIT Bombay student Darshan Solanki and on the call of his father. Shortly thereafter university students were attacked. The students’ union says that IIT Bombay student Darshan Solanki was institutionally murdered by a casteist environment. ABVP has done this once again to derail the movement against caste discrimination.

On the other hand, on this clash, ABVP says that the pictures of foreign Lenin, Karl Marx and many opponents of Indian thoughts have already been installed in the student union office since years ago, but like Maharana Pratap’s photo last year and now Shivaji’s photo, this leftist organizations It didn’t go down well and they protested violently.

ABVP JNU President Rohit Kumar said that the character of the Left is anarchic, it cannot tolerate anyone other than itself, as soon as the ideas of Shivaji and Maharana Pratap were discussed in JNU, they could not tolerate it and attacked as usual. Got down ABVP JNU says that it is committed to spreading ideas and honoring Indian great men in JNU.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad says that the students associated with the Left did not like the fact that the pictures of great men like Maharana Pratap and Shivaji, the symbols of Indian civilization, should be put up in the university. According to the student union, not only he but millions of youth of the country take inspiration from these legends. But when the portraits of these great men were installed at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, students associated with LIFE removed the portraits and vandalized them.
