AMU’s missing student found in Jama Masjid area of ​​Delhi

Aligarh| The presence of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) student Ashraf Ali was found in the Jama Masjid area of ​​Delhi. Ashraf was missing for the last two weeks. Circle Officer (Civil Lines) Anil Samania said that he was brought back to Aligarh from Delhi on Thursday by a police team. He said that Ashraf, 26 years old, told the police that he was in depression and could not feel comfortable in his surroundings, so he left without telling anyone.

Police said that Ashraf, who was suffering from depression, had left the campus on his own.

Ashraf told the police that he was surprised to see the poster of his ‘disappearance’ while walking in the Jama Masjid area of ​​Delhi. Then he made several calls to his cousin Irshad, who lives in Delhi.

Irshad informed the AMU officials, who informed the Aligarh police about Ashraf’s whereabouts.

His posters, along with Ashraf’s photo, were put up when the police came to know about his withdrawal of Rs 1,000 from an ATM in Ghaziabad.

Ashraf, hailing from Araria district of Bihar, has a BA from AMU. Is studying (Spanish).

Following her disappearance from the university campus on 23 February, the students staged a protest here and demanded action to be taken to locate her.
