LUCKNOW| The colleges and universities of Uttar Pradesh will reopen from 23 November. Higher educational institutions closed since 8 months due to the epidemic will open with 50 percent attendance of students on a roster basis. The state government has issued guidelines to reopen colleges and universities. According to Additional Chief Secretary of Higher Education Department, Monica Garg, an order has been sent to the registrars of all district magistrates and universities. In this, higher educational institutions have been asked to resume classes in a phased manner so that the campus is not crowded.
Apart from this, we are asked to follow all the rules like wearing a face mask, using hand sanitizer, social distancing. All higher education institutions will have to provide thermal scanning and handwash basins for both students and staff. Students will also not be allowed to share books, notes and laptops. At the same time, students, teachers and staff living in the Containment Zone will not be allowed to enter the institutions.
Chancellors and principals of colleges and universities have been asked to carry out all standard operating procedures in their institutions. These institutions can also seek help from nearby hospitals, NGOs working in the health sector.
