All people traveling must have a COVID 19 negative certificate. “The pilgrims will be cross-checked for the virus before they are allowed to start the journey to Jammu and Kashmir,” a SASB official said. All pilgrims, except the sages, must register online for the journey.

It has also been decided that ‘Aarti’ performed in the cave temple in the morning and evening during 15 days will be broadcast live to devotees across the country. Officials said that due to the unavailability of local laborers and difficulties in maintaining track from base camp to cave temple, the chopper would be used to reach the cave from Baltal Base Camp in Ganderbal district for the Yatra 2020.

Amarnath Yatra 2020 will conclude on Shravan Purnima or Raksha Bandhan

The Yatra 2020 will only pass through the North Kashmir Baltal route. Officials said, “No pilgrims will be allowed to travel through Pahalgam route this year.” The Yatra 2020 will conclude on 3 August on Shravan Purnima, the day of the festival of Raksha Bandhan.
