The All India Minority Front (AIMF) attacked the Yogi government over its handling of the coronavirus pandemic, alleging that COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc in many villages including Sultanpur Khera.
In a statement, party president Dr. SM Asif alleged that COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc in rural areas, all thanks to Yogi govt and its arrogance & incompetence.”
He said, “Thousands of rural people troubled due to the neglected medical policies of the government.”
Criticizing the Yogi government, Dr Asif said, “ Most villages still have a casual approach towards pandemic. “Therefore, the infection becomes severe in few days without adequate diagnosis and treatment.”
And when people die, he said, their deaths find no place in government records because they are cremated at farms in the villages.
“Fear of Covid-19 is so set in the minds of the locals that they are even reluctant to ensure proper last rites for the dead,” he said.
“The Sultanpur Khera village where 15 died of the infection has better medical facilities. But like the rest of UP, testing there has been patchy. Most people get infected, fall ill, and some even die — all without being tested,” he added.
