Provide relief package to journalists

The All India Minority Front (AIMF) today issued a press statement urging the government to bring a relief package for journalists that are rendering public service in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

AIMF’s national president, Mr S M Asif urged for an appropriate relief package and adequate safety to the journalists risking their lives in line of the duty during the lockdown enforced by the government to stem the spread of Covid-19.

Hundreds of journalists working in several newspapers and magazines were forced out of jobs. Those employed by small newspapers have taken the worst hit, Mr Asif alleged.

The AIMF chief appealed to the government to immediately announce a relief package for the journalists who were not enlisted in the recipient of relief packages recently announced by the government.
