New Delhi: Shri Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, an IAS officer of the 1990 batch of AGMUT cadre, assumed charge as Chairperson – New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) today.
Shri Bhalla succeeds Shri Dharmendra, who was transferred to Arunachal Pardesh as Chief Secretary. Shri Bhalla was currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department in Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
Shri Bhalla has held several important assignments in past, serving both Central and Delhi Governments in various capacities. He has worked in Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India.
He has also served as Counsellor economic in the Embassy of India in Washington DC.
He has worked in the cadre in Daman & Diu/ Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Goa. Additional Chief Secretary – Chandigarh.
He has served in Delhi Government in the capacity of Principal Secretary – Home and also handled Health & Family Welfare department. He was also nodal officer for the overall management of Covid – 19. Earlier he worked as Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) of North Delhi.
Shri Bhupinder Singh Bhalla has done his Graduation in Commerce, has done his ICWA and MBA from IIM – Banglore and University of Georgia, USA.
