On this occasion, Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, in her address, said that NDMC is not merely an institution but a family, where public representatives, officers, and employees work together in the service of those who serve the nation. She stated that the NDMC area is the center of the country’s administrative and democratic framework, and the employees working here play a vital role in enhancing the image of the national capital.

Appreciating the efforts of NDMC, the Chief Minister said that through its continuous initiatives, 109 families have received new hope in the form of compassionate appointments. She remarked that these appointments are not just jobs, but lifelong support systems that provide stability and security to the future of these families. The Chief Minister expressed special happiness that nearly 90 women are among those who received the appointments. She expressed confidence that all the selected candidates would work with full dedication and commitment to strengthen the resolve of “Viksit Bharat, Viksit Delhi” (Developed India, Developed Delhi).

The Chief Minister also described the distribution of Medical Health Cards to contractual employees under the LMHS scheme as a major relief. She said that in today’s times, medical expenses often become a significant financial burden on families, and therefore, the cashless medical facility would act as a protective shield for employees and their families.

The Chief Minister further stated that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the government is working with the motto of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” to provide a sensitive and transparent system of governance. She said that the objective of the present government is to ensure that no employee, officer, or common citizen faces injustice, and that everyone receives all essential facilities with dignity and respect.

Delhi Government Minister – Shri Parvesh Sahib Singh stated that both initiatives undertaken by NDMC to provide appointment letters to the dependents of deceased employees and extending medical card facilities to employees working on a contractual basis are significant steps towards social welfare. He said that these measures have brought smiles of happiness to the faces of the dependents of the deceased families and also they have given a sense of reassurance to contractual employees, who will no longer have to bear additional financial burdens during medical emergencies.

Shri Parvesh Sahib Singh also recalled NDMC’s initiative taken a few years ago to regularise 4,400 temporary employees. He stated that these initiatives are not being undertaken with the intention of gaining votes, but rather to fulfil the government’s responsibility towards the people and society, those responsibilities that previous governments had failed to address due to various reasons.

Ms. Bansuri Swaraj said that the long-pending demands for compassionate appointments and the provision of medical card facilities for employees working on a contractual basis had been considered and approved by the NDMC Council with complete sensitivity and compassion. She described it as not merely an administrative initiative but a deeply humanitarian one. She further said that the affection and compassionate leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister are reflected in these two decisions of the NDMC today. For this, the entire NDMC Council deserves appreciation for demonstrating remarkable human sensitivity in taking these decisions.

Shri Keshav Chandra, Chairman, NDMC, in his welcome address, stated that the distribution of appointment letters on compassionate grounds to 109 employees reflects NDMC’s dedication to providing dignity, financial stability, and emotional support to the families of deceased employees who had devoted years of service to the Council. The Chairman, NDMC, emphasized that the initiative symbolizes NDMC’s commitment to standing firmly with its employees and their families in difficult times.
