Delhi Municipal Corporation: After becoming the mayor, Raja Iqbal announced to end user charges

New Delhi, April 25  Raja Iqbal Singh of BJP became the new mayor of Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD). In his first reaction after being elected as the mayor, he expressed gratitude to the top leadership of the party. He announced to end the user charges.

The new mayor of Delhi Municipal Corporation, Raja Iqbal Singh, while talking to the media said, I thank the top leadership of the party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and all the corporation councilors, MLAs, MPs. Today I got a chance to serve. In the last two and a half years, under the leadership of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), we will try to improve the condition of the corporation within three months and show it to the public.

He said, cleanliness in Delhi, removing the mountain of garbage, solving the problem of waterlogging before the upcoming monsoon will be the priority. By working with the Delhi government in these areas, we will try to ensure that the public does not face any kind of problem. For the last two and a half years, the condition of the parks is bad, our effort will be to make them green. We will take Delhi towards greenery. We will end corruption inside the corporation.

Taking a dig at the previous Aam Aadmi Party government, he said, ‘AAP’ has cheated the people of Delhi in connivance with senior officials. They have shown their double character. We will abolish the user charge. The level of education inside the corporation has decreased, we will motivate the teachers and give scholarships and dress money to the children on time, so that the children can study well.

With Raja Iqbal becoming the mayor, now the BJP’s ‘triple engine’ government has come to power in the national capital Delhi. There is already a BJP government at the Center and the Assembly. Now the BJP has also captured the mayor’s seat.

The BJP had won all the seven seats in Delhi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In the assembly elections held in February this year, it also secured an absolute majority and formed the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
