Delhi Police removed farmers from Burari Maidan

New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Thursday removed protesting farmers from the DDA ground in Burari, on the outskirts of the national capital. They were camping here since late November. Police said 30 farmers from Burari have gone to the Singhu border and 15 others have been detained on 26 January by protesters suspected of involvement in the violence.

Burari ground was first given to the farmers for the protests, but most of the farmers gathered at the Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur border. There were few protesters in this ground.

The development comes after escalating tensions between police and protesters at these three borders.
