New Delhi, October 3 . Congress started the election campaign in Haryana with full force, but gradually the internal conflict within the party came out in the open.
On one side was the camp of senior party leader and former Chief Minister of the state Bhupendra Singh Hooda and on the other side were the supporters of Randeep Surjewala. Above all, the one whose displeasure was most discussed within the Congress party was MP Kumari Selja. Whose camp was seen in a different style during this election.
BJP also kept repeating the issue raised by Kumari Selja again and again and also kept telling the public that the party which does not respect its Dalit leader, how will that party respect the Dalits of the state.
Even after all this, if all the Congress leaders were together on the stage, they would have claimed that there is no kind of difference of opinion among them. Everyone is standing with the party. But, later everyone’s statements did not match each other.
Kumari Selja’s displeasure with the party was evident from the fact that she was out of the scene almost for the first week of the election campaign. However, later she joined the party’s campaign. But, that kind of enthusiasm was rarely seen in her. However, Rahul Gandhi did try to give a message of unity of the party by making Kumari Selja and Bhupendra Singh Hooda shake hands on the stage.
Still, Kumari Selja expressed her suppressed feelings in a media interview.
In fact, Kumari Selja is angry with the dominance of Bhupendra Singh Hooda camp in the distribution of party tickets in the assembly elections. She admitted in this interview that she does not talk to Bhupendra Hooda. She clearly said that when she was the PCC chief, she used to talk to him, but now she has not talked to him.
Now the news came that on the last day of the assembly election campaign in Haryana, Kumari Selja reached the residence of senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi to meet her and this meeting of both lasted for 30 minutes.
Kumari Selja reached 10 Janpath alone to meet Sonia Gandhi. In such a situation, special meanings are being drawn from this meeting.
In fact, even after Kumari Selja started election campaign after resentment in Haryana, her resentment with former CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda did not seem to subside.
However, no information has come out yet about what was discussed between Sonia Gandhi and Kumari Selja. But, political experts believe that Sonia Gandhi must have assured her of maintaining unity in the party and getting an important role from the party in future.
At a time when reports of tussle within the state Congress are coming to the fore, this meeting is being considered really important and people have started speculating whether this meeting has given some indication for Bhupendra Hooda. In such a situation, this meeting has further fueled the speculations going on within the Congress regarding the post of Chief Minister.
