NEW DELHI| Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday announced a new scheme Self-Reliant India Employment Scheme to create new employment opportunities. He said that new schemes are being launched to create new employment opportunities in order to improve the economy through measures taken to deal with the economic challenges faced by the Corona epidemic. He said that the scheme being implemented for two years will be effective from October 1, 2020. The Self Employed India Employment Scheme will cover companies with a workforce of 1,000 or less. According to an estimate, about 65 percent of the formal sector companies will be covered under this scheme.
Finance Minister Corona was addressing a press conference to announce new measures for new relief to deal with the devastation of the epidemic.
