New Delhi| The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry said that the total number of cases in the country has increased to 2,22,96,414 with 4,03,738 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours. This is the fifth time since May 1 that India’s new Covid cases have crossed the four lakh mark. On Friday, India registered the highest number of 4,14,188 cases.
More than three lakh cases have been reported in India’s daily Covid Tally in the last 17 days and more than 3,000 casualties have been reported in the last 11 days.
Couple tally now stands at 2,22,96,414 in India with 37,36,648 active cases of Kovid 19 and 2,42,362 deaths.
According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 3,86,444 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, while 1,83,17,404 people have so far recovered from Covid.
The Health Ministry said that with 20,23,532 people being vaccinated in the last 24 hours, a total of 16,94,39,663 people have been vaccinated in the country so far.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 30,22,75,471 samples for Covid 19 have been tested till 8 May. Of these, 18,65,428 samples were tested on Saturday.
