PM Modi holds an important meeting on Covid crisis

New Delhi | Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held an important meeting to review the status of Covid-19 and the progress of vaccination across the country. The meeting started at 11 am.

Speaking on the Covid-19 situation in the country, the Prime Minister said on Friday, “The epidemic, the worst in 100 years, is testing the world at every step. We have a certain enemy in front of us.”

Addressing an online program, Modi said, “I am feeling the pain that the citizens have endured, which many people have experienced.”

The meeting has been organized at a time when India has been registering more than 3 lakh Covid cases every day for more than three weeks. Recent data from the Union Health Ministry said that India recorded 3,26,098 new Covid cases and 3,890 deaths on Saturday.

For the past 23 days, the daily Covid figures of India have crossed 3 lakh and more than 3,000 deaths have been recorded since 17 days. The total number of Covid-19 cases in India is 2,43,72,907, with 36,73,802 active cases and 2,66,207 deaths so far
