Now road transport from Arunachal Pradesh to Assam will become stronger than before. The Union Government has given in-principle approval to construct a tunnel to speed up road transport from Arunachal Pradesh to Assam. Now 14.85 km tunnel will be built under the Brahmaputra river.
This tunnel will be the longest tunnel built under the river. Earlier, this tunnel was being built under the Taihu Lake of East China. It has been approved to construct a Chal lane road under the Brahmaputra river to connect Gohalpur (NH-54) to Assam to Numaligarh (NH-37).
According to the information received from the officials, the National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, a public sector undertaking of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, has approved the detailed project report of the tunnel. This tunnel will be built by an American company.
Let us know that Louise Berger company of America has prepared a pre-feasibility report and DPR for making this tunnel. The special feature of this tunnel is that inside it, military vehicles and vehicles equipped with assassins will run at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour.
Work will be started to build this tunnel from December of 2020. The pressure of the air inside the tunnel will be very low, for this ventilation system, fire fighting, light arrangement, and emergency exit facilities will also be provided for fresh air inside the tunnel.
