New Delhi, February 2. To win the battle of the Delhi Assembly elections, the leaders of political parties are holding rallies. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Aam Aadmi Party while addressing a public meeting in Seemapuri, Delhi, on Sunday.
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said that the government has imposed GST on everything. Everything is expensive. GST has been imposed on children’s school dresses, socks, shoes, sarees, bindis, and copybooks. Petrol and diesel are expensive. There is inflation everywhere in the country. There was a speech on the budget in Parliament, but there was no discussion on ‘inflation’. Not a single word was spoken by the government on how inflation will be reduced. The government is not concerned about the condition of the public.
She said that when ‘cholera’ had spread here, Rajiv Gandhi had come to meet the people. But has PM Narendra Modi ever come here? When Rajiv Gandhi used to go to villages as Prime Minister, women used to scold him for his work. Even then, he used to smile and perform his duty. But today, if anyone asks a question to PM Narendra Modi, he will put him in jail.
Priyanka Gandhi said that our freedom struggle was the most unique movement in the world, which was based on truth, non-violence and equality. People of every religion and every class participated in this struggle. Whereas people of PM Narendra Modi’s ideology were helping the British, writing letters to the British. They did not fight for independence, so they are not able to understand the country and today they are rejecting the public. But the day the people of the country wake up, they will not be able to survive.
She said that PM Narendra Modi said about my mother that she has insulted the President. Think, what kind of issue is this? An elderly woman expressed her sympathy towards another elderly woman and said that the President had to read a speech for an hour, she must have got tired. But PM Narendra Modi and BJP made it an election issue. People are struggling with inflation, there is no food, no employment, people are troubled, but the government is just talking nonsense.
Priyanka Gandhi further said that when the elections have come, Aam Aadmi Party-BJP have remembered women. But in the last 10 years, they never talked about women’s safety. Kejriwal made many allegations against Sheila Dikshit, but today women are not safe in her rule. Today women are scared, they are worried about their safety and they are afraid to go out alone.
Let us tell you that voting for 70 assembly seats of Delhi will be held in a single phase on February 5 and the results will be declared on February 8.
