Two desperate auto-lifters nabbed by team PS Bharat Nagar under operation Sajag

New Delhi: Under Operation Sajag, a continuing drive of North-West District for containment of crime & criminals and to dominate the streets so as to reduce street crimes as well as to instill confidence & sense of security among citizens, two desperate auto-lifters nabbed by the staff of PS Bharat Nagar.

Under this drive, alert patrolling staff and special pickets were deployed for intensive checking and during this exercise, a major breakthrough was achieved whereby staff of PS Bharat Nagar nabbed two desperate auto-lifters and recovered five stolen two-wheelers & a button actuated knife from their possession. Accused are habitual criminals & active auto-lifters, previously found involved in several cases of auto theft.

On 29.01.2022 at around 10 PM, a patrolling team comprising of ASI Ravinder, Ct.Sneh & Ct. Manmohan of PS Bharat Nagar under the close supervision of Insp. Mohar Singh, SHO/ PS Bharat Nagar,was performing night patrolling duty in the Sawan Park area. When they were passing from underpass road, Sangam Park, at about 10.00 PM, they noticed two boys coming on a blue scooty and when they saw the police team, they turned back scooty and tried to flee from the spot, but the active & alert staff overpowered them, by displaying keen sense of alertness & swift response. The scooty driver was identified as Sohaib@ Wahid S/o AasMohd R/o Wazirpur  Village, Delhi (age 19yrs) & piller rider as Vikas Gangwar @ Amit S/o Tinku Gangwar R/o Wazirpur  Village, Delhi (age 22yrs). On searching, one button actuated knife was recovered from Vikash’s right pant pocket and on verification of scooty no. DL6S AS 8499, it was found stolen in eFIR No. 035467/21 u/s 379 IPC PS Ashok Vihar, Delhi.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 166/22 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act & 102 CrPC was registered in PS Bharat Nagar and an investigation was taken up. Both the accused were arrested accordingly.

On their sustained interrogation, they disclosed their involvements in the auto-theft cases and further four stolen two-wheelers were recovered at their instance.

Scooty No. DL-8SCF-7849, stolen vide eFIR No. 036773/21 Date 21/12/21 u/s 379 IPC PS Adarsh Nagar, Delhi.
