Youth arrested for showing off loaded pistol Stollen from father’s possession, by the team of PS Roop Nagar

New Delhi: A Budding Criminal Took Out The Licensed Pistol Of His Father’s Security Guard From The Almirah And Joined The Party With His Friends To Impress Them.

Keeping in view, the regular directions of senior officers regarding checking the menace of criminals and to curb street crime, police presence has been increased in the beat area of PS Roop Nagar by regular area patrolling and conducting random picket checking during odd hours to surprise the criminals. PS Roop Nagar staff has also been directed for maximum use of ROKO-TOKO strategy of Delhi Police.

In the intervening night of 18/19.12.2022, a dedicated police team lead by ASI Surender Kumar, comprising of Ct Sunil Kumar and Ct Sharwan were deployed for night patrolling in the area, under the close supervision of Inspr. Joginder Dahiya, SHO/PS Roop Nagar and guidance of Shri Satender Yadav, ACP/Civil Lines.

During patrolling at about 11:45 PM, the above said police team reached near Satyawati Medical College, Roop Nagar, Delhi and they received an information through their secret and reliable sources that one criminal having illegal firearms is present at Red Light Shakti Nagar Chowk, who may commit any crime. If raid is conducted well in time, he might be apprehended with illegal fire arms.

Working on the information, the above said police patrolling team immediately swung into action and rushed to the place of information without wasting any time. On the instance of secret informer, the suspected person was noticed who was signalled to stop for checking and enquiry, but in-spite of stopping he tried to escape from the spot in speedy steps. However, the alert & valour police team instantly chased him and succeeded in apprehending him strategically after a short distance. On enquiry, he could not give any satisfactory reply to the police team and also tried to doge/mislead them.

On checking/frisking and personal search of the apprehended suspected person, one Country Made Pistol loaded with one Live Cartridge was recovered from his possession. The accused was identified as Harsh, aged-22 years.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 314/22 dated 19.12.2022 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act was registered at PS Roop Nagar and investigation was taken up.

During interrogation, the accused Harsh, aged-22 years disclosed that he took out the pistol loaded with one live cartridge from the almirah kept in his house on 19.12.2022 in the absence of his family members and he came to attend a kitty party with his friends at Shakti Nagar area, Delhi. Further, he disclosed that he alongwith his friends attended the party and consumed alcohol and after finishing the party he was on the way to his home. Later on during late hours he was waiting for someone to take lift near at Red Light, Shakti Nagar Chowk, Delhi, but he was apprehended by the police team with the pistol.

Subsequently, during course of enquiry, it revealed that the recovered Pistol was registered in the name of one Rakesh Solanki, r/o PS Sikandra Rao, District Mahamaya Nagar, (Hathras), Uttar Pradesh, who does work as a security guard with the property dealer namely Yogender Kumar, who is father of the accused person. The licence holder (Rakesh Solanki) used to keep his pistol in a safe/almirah kept at the resident of his owner and he had proceeded to his native village, Hathras, Uttar Pradesh two days ago. In the meantime, the accused Harsh, aged-22 years somehow took out his firearms/pistol from the almirah and went to meet his friends at Shakti Nagar area.

On sustained interrogation, it further revealed that the accused is budding criminal who previously found involved in a case of Arms Act registered at PS Jafrabad, Delhi. The accused has studied up to 12th standard and he is an unemployed.

DETAIL OF ACCUSED PERSON:
• Harsh R/o Ashok Mohalla, Maujpur, Delhi, age-22 years. (Previously found involved in a case of Arms Act registered at PS Jafrabad, Delhi).

RECOVERY:
• One Pistol & 01 Live Cartridge. (Owned by the security guard Rakesh Solanki).
