2 new judges sworn in Delhi High Court

New Delhi| Chief Justice of Delhi High Court D.N. Patel on Wednesday administered the oath to Jasmeet Singh and Amit Bansal as the new judges. The oath-taking ceremony took place in the presence of other judges and family members of Justice Singh and Justice Bansal in the Chamber of Chief Justice. With this, the number of judges in the Delhi High Court has now increased to 32.

On 22 February, the President of India appointed Justices Jasmeet Singh and Amit Bansal as judges of the Delhi High Court. A notification in this regard was issued by the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law.

Their names were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium in August last year. Jasmeet Singh has 27 years of experience, having practiced law in the Delhi High Court and other courts since 1992. He has practiced in constitutional, civil, labor, service and matrimonial law.

Whereas, Amit Bansal has expertise in education law, indirect tax law, service law. He has held several positions in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, including Senior Permanent Advocate.
